Trainer and Syndicate comments for Lassana Angel

Lassana Angel will be a 4YO in 2018 and will be racing from the start of the flat season in late March.

She was trained by Roger Charlton and owned by the renowned breeder DJ Deer as a 2YO, and we bought her with trainer Tommy Gretton at the Tattersalls July sales. She cost 11,000 guineas. She is trained by Tommy in Inkberow, Worcesteshire and will be campaigned on the flat on turf through the summer. She will be racing in the South and the Midlands on the grass in decent handicap company.

This is the perfect horse for a racing enthusiast in the Midlands or South looking for a young racehorse who has shown some promise already, and hopefully will blossom into a really decent sort in handicap company. In Tommy Gretton you have an aspiring trainer who looks after his horses welfare, places his horses extremely well and has a very decent win ratio. This filly has been bought expressly with the aim of providing Tom with an opportunity to go flat racing with a better class of individual.

She is rated 66 at the moment and has run four times, being placed and running decent races on more than one occasion. A look at the horses who have finished around her during her 3YO career displays horses rated in the 70s and 80s - so we believe her current handicap rating is very workable.

She will start off in Fillies only handicaps in the 0-70 or 0-75 bands and hopefully progress from there. Tommy is well placed to run at all the major flat tracks around the South and Midlands and we have had runners at courses like Brighton, Sandown, Kempton, Newbury, Leicester, as well as more far-flung tracks such as Chepstow and Yarmouth from Tommy in recent years.

Having only run four times as a 2YO and 3YO, she has plenty of improvement in her - but her form to date is still very decent. Tommy has purposefully given her the autumn off in order for the filly to fill out and grow (she is now well over 16 hands) but she is fit and well and will have a busy 2018 campaign.

We have great hopes for this filly, who should provide her shareholders with good quality racing. If she is able to win early in the season, we will look to give her an opportunity to race in quality weekend races later in the season.

She is available to view prior to purchase and we expect this filly to race right through 2018 and beyond. To purchase, follow the process online and Ownaracehorse will be in touch once you have completed your Direct debit mandate.
